American Idol 2013 Results Top 9: Nicki Minaj Threatens to Quit
LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – American Idol 2013 last night revealed a Top 9 and prompted Nicki Minaj threatening to quit. Who was eliminated in American Idol 2013 results last night? Ironically, just days earlier, sources claimed that Nicki Minaj’s future on Idol could be in jeopardy for being tardy for a live Fox broadcast.
Nicki Minaj was furious when it was learned Curtis Finch Jr could be heading home. She fumed “If you go home, I go home”. But as the NY Daily News aptly notes, Minaj’s comments are ironic “because Minaj wasn’t even present for his Wednesday showing, having been late for that taping.”
Reports claim that producers and host Ryan Seacrest were enraged that Minaj was late for the taping earlier this week. “Congestion on the 405 (freeway)” was announced by Ryan after Minaj didn’t show to her seat. She tweeted “stuck in traffic” as her “excuse” to miss a live performance and duty to judge a singer.
But Fox news reports that the Minaj’s future could be problematic. “Ryan was the angriest and Nigel (Lythgoe, executive producer) was mad too. Nicki knew better,” a source tells Fox411. “And Mariah was just annoyed, she’s really over (Nicki.) They were all just embarrassed that it happened.”
Last night we learned who are currently the front runners. The top three vote-getters ((alphabetically) were Candice Glover, Kree Harrison and Angie Miller. The next highest were (in order) Lazaro Arbos, Amber Holcomb, Janelle Arthur, Burnell Taylor, and Paul Jolley, officials told news.
Curtis was give a judges-save chance. But only Minaj voted to save him. “I definitely don’t think Curtis belongs in the Bottom 2. C’mon, America, are you kidding me? … If you go home, I’m going home.”
One twist featured eliminated singers Charlie Askew and Aubrey Cleland. They were brought back to sing for a spot on the Idol 2013 tour. On Wednesday, the retunes of Askew and Cleland will be announced to news.
